The Scott Farm

The Scott Farm is located on Bernheisel Bridge Road where it crosses the Conodiguinet Creek. Prior to the formation of our Club, the Scott Farm house, barn and outbuildings had been acquired by the National Park Service and used by the Appalachian Trail Conference mostly for storage. When originally acquired, the house was not fit for human habitation. During 1993, four teepees were put up on the grounds to house the Mid-Atlantic trail crew. Asbestos was removed from the house in 1994. Later, the house was renovated so it could be used as the caretaker's residence. The back building was fixed up for use as the bunkhouse for the summer Mid-Atlantic Region trail crews. The outbuilding near the parking lot was turned into a tool shed for ATC and CVATC. CVATC played a major role in all of these renovations.

Since those early days, CVATC has helped our partners at ATC with maintenance and updates at the Scott Farm. These include renovations and repainting of the outside walls in 2009 and rebuilding the doors of the tool shed in 2015.
